Met a white girl on Hinge and now I'm overthinking everything lol

So I matched with this girl on Hinge a couple weeks ago, she's white, 29, lives in Chicago like me, and we’ve been talking nonstop since. We finally met up last Friday in Wicker Park and honestly the date went way better than I expected. She was super easy to talk to, didn’t ask any weird questions, and we ended up closing the bar down. I’m a Black man and I’ve dated interracial before, but this one feels a little different for some reason. I guess what’s messing with my head is that she seems really into me, but I keep wondering if I’m reading too much into it. She’s already suggested another date and even mentioned going to a concert together next month. Part of me is like, cool, she’s just being genuine. Another part of me is like, am I about to get in my own way because I’m overthinking? Anybody else deal with that when you start liking someone outside your usual type?

Man, if she’s making plans and keeping the convo going, I’d take that as a good sign. I’m in Atlanta and met my wife on Bumble, she’s from Ohio and at first I was doing the same thing, analyzing every little thing. Sometimes we get so used to expecting weird energy that when it’s normal and easy, it feels suspicious for no reason. Just keep it simple and match her energy. Don’t force the interracial part to be a whole thing unless she does. If the vibe is good, let it be good.

I get why you’re cautious though. I’m a white woman and I’ve dated Black men where the chemistry was real but one or both of us started projecting stuff onto it too fast. The best ones felt natural, like nobody was trying to perform or prove something. If she’s talking about a concert next month, that’s not nothing. I’d say go, have fun, and stay present instead of trying to predict the ending. Chicago dating can already be annoying enough without adding extra stress to it.
